High Tibial Osteotomy

Osteotomy literally means "bone cutting." A knee osteotomy involves cutting and reshaping the tibia to reduce pressure on the knee joint.

When a patient has early-stage osteoarthritis that has only injured one side of the knee joint, the doctor performs a knee osteotomy. An osteotomy treatment helps reduce discomfort and improve function in an arthritic knee by shifting weight away from the afflicted side of the joint.

At Dr. Dev Padia's clinic, before moving for surgery, our doctor will examine you and sign your knee to verify the operative site.
