Finger Fractures

A broken finger is not a minor injury, despite the fact that the bones in the hand are little. A typical hand's bones are perfectly aligned. They enable you to carry out a variety of specialized tasks, such as holding a pen or moving small objects in your palm. When a finger bone is fractured, it can throw your entire hand out of alignment. Your broken finger may remain stiff and painful if not treated.

Finger dislocations should be decreased as soon as feasible, and soft tissue injuries should be addressed as needed. If dislocation cannot be reduced, is unstable after reduction, or involves substantial ligament, tendon, or soft tissue injury, it should be referred to a hand expert. With proper reduction and immobilization, some common finger fractures can be managed conservatively.
