Cervical Herniated Disc or Ruptured Disc

A herniated cervical disc can cause pain in your neck or upper back that you've never experienced before.

While it may appear alarming, it is a typical health issue as you become older. In fact, you might not even know you have one if you don't have any symptoms.

A herniated cervical disc is a typical source of neck and upper body pain. The pain in the neck, between the shoulder blades, can be subtle or intense, and it can radiate (travel) down into the arms, hands, and fingers. Numbness and tingling are common symptoms, and some patients complain of muscle spasms. Pain can be aggravated and intensified by certain positions and movements.
