Supraspinatus Tendinitis

Supraspinatus tendinopathy is a frequent and disabling disorder that affects people in their forties and fifties and is a common cause of shoulder pain. Overuse of resistive devices is a risk factor.

The rotator cuff's supraspinatus tendon is one of the tendons of the musculoskeletal system that deteriorates as a result of repetitive pressures and overloading during sports or occupational activities.

As it passes between the acromion and the humeral head, the supraspinatus tendon frequently impinges on the acromion. This mechanism has multiple components.

The supraspinatus muscle, which receives its innervation from the suprascapular nerve and stabilizes the shoulder, exorotates, and helps abduct the arm by commencing the abduction of the humerus on the scapula, is the most important muscle in the rotator cuff.
